Movers and Shakers for June 17

Pearl-Grace Pantaleone is the new business development and marketing manager for Cornerstone General Contractors Inc. Pantaleone joins Cornerstone after almost four years in the architecture/engineering/construction industry, previously serving as a marketing coordinator for engineering and architectural firms. Prior to joining the industry, she came from a background in journalism and broadcast news. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public communications from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has held various community board positions, including serving as the current communications director for the Society of Marketing Professional Services Alaska Chapter.

Jodie Hettrick was appointed the new Chief for the Anchorage Fire Department, effective immediately. Hettrick has been serving as acting chief since former Chief Denis LeBlanc retired in May. Hettrick joined AFD in 2012 and served as the assistant fire chief until 2015, when she was promoted to deputy fire chief. As deputy chief, Hettrick was responsible for the day-to-day management and operations for the department. Prior to coming to AFD, Hettrick worked for the State of Alaska’s Division of Fire and Life Safety, the Alaska Building Science Network, Cominco Alaska, Inc., the Valdez Fire Department, and the Central Mat-Su Fire Department. Hettrick is the first female fire chief for the Anchorage Fire Department.
