Clarus Technologies awarded Coast Guard contract

Clarus Technologies LLC, Environmental Services Division, was awarded a $7.5 million environmental support services contract through the U.S. Coast Guard Facility Design and Construction Center of Seattle in support of the Coast Guard Integrated Support Command based in Kodiak.

On Kodiak, crews will do long-term monitoring at clean-up sites, write environmental guidance manuals, oversee environmental cleanups, site investigations and facility auditing.

The contract also provides support to Coast Guard units throughout Alaska. Work will include environmental assessments and statewide compliance support.

The Environmental Services Division provides site investigation and remediation services, cultural resource management, and environmental compliance consulting.

Based in Eagle River, and with an office on Kodiak, the Environmental Services Division has provided support to the Coast Guard in a subcontract role since 2001.

Clarus Technologies LLC is an Alaska Native-owned small business. Clarus' four divisions offer environmental services, pollution prevention equipment, naval-marine services, and environmental event planning. Established in 1994, Clarus was acquired in 2000 by Koniag Inc., an Alaska Native regional corporation. In 2001, Clarus Technologies LLC was certified in the Small Business Administration, small disadvantaged business 8(a) program.
